Swimming & Spirit Work

I nearly drowned twice as a youngster – once in a river in Nicaragua and the second time in the Gold Coast 'Wet & Wild' wave pool as a teenager. The second incident was so embarrassing – I never lived it down in high school!

These two events marked me in a way. I took swimming and water sports off the list. I recently went to Fiji and they were offering snorkelling, swimming in caves and beginner’s scuba diving. At first I thought “definitely not for me”, but then I remembered – "the past does not equal the present".

I knew this was a key defining moment to change it all. How so? Simply by taking the opportunity in front of me. So I said, this is it! I can do this and I can embrace being uncomfortable, being a beginner and trying something new.

And so I did and I loved it. I went out of my comfort zone. It wasn’t “easy”, I was very nervous and I brought along a pool noodle as my “security blanket” to all the events.

All new things can make us nervous, all new things can be a challenge, yet all new things are worth a try! New activities create new neural pathways and consciousness expansion.

Spirit work makes people feel nervous too. What if I can’t do it? What if it’s too hard? What if I get caught in something that is dark? The same “what ifs” can be found in swimming or any new activity.

If it calls you, feel the fear and walk through it, you can always bring your version of a “pool noodle”, in this case it can be my fundamentals online training – The Temple of Spirits (starting 4th of March). You will have a security blanket which will serve you very well on this journey.

I didn’t get spirit work straightaway, I was very dense. It's taken decades to allow my spiritual gifts to blossom in divine timing. If I can do it, anyone can!
